continuation : Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire

November 22, 2005

Ask me which part of the movie was disappointing for me - the Hogwarts Dormitory looks a little gloomy and small and I was hoping to see all 4 champions with the dragons. And Rita Skeeter? The Yule Ball was not as enchanting as the book.

Book 4 is my favorite of the 6 installments. I am hoping book 7 would top ‘em all and catapult me to Nirvana.

Am still sleepy and I am glad for the free sachet of toothpaste that the ticket lady handed out to us. Am going to brush my teeth and see if it will wake me up.

Harry Potter 4

Harry Potter 4 : The Goblet of Fire has been showing for almost a week now and I still have not seen the movie. Even I cannot imagine my seemingly lack of enthusiasm.

Hermione Granger and Harry Potter from the Goblet of Fire

These past few days have been extremely busy for me and my team. We had a website launch last 18 and numerous projects to bid on and there are a number of existing jobs underway. My hands are full with muggly-concerns that even the lure of the magical word cannot entice me. Dragons cannot turn my eyes off the monitor; charms and spells cannot deaden the nagging tic-tac-tic of the clock as I near our projects’ deadline.

My feet are firmly planted on terra firma - no floe powder can transport me to diagon alley or to Hogwarts for that matter, at this time of the year.

100 pages and more

July 19, 2005

As expected, I wasn’t able to finish the whole Harry Potter book. As much as I would like to, I need to sleep to be able to function like a decent homo sapiens the next day.

I’ve gobbled up 100 or so pages and I couldn’t wait to go home and read but alas! work issues are issues you cannot just ignore. I’ve one million things buzzing inside my skull and the most persistent is: who will die in book 6?

This review has me excited and worried and by golly, am going to skip sleeping.

here at long last

July 18, 2005

I got my own copy of the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince today.

It’s hardbound and really thick and well, heavy. I would have much preferred a paperback – my hands won’t tire from holding it while in bed and in the most awkward positions. I love reading while lying down with or without lights. Hehe!

Just like the millions of potterites out there, I don’t want to read about the plot either in the papers or on the web, which for sure I am bound to read. I don’t want some stupid muggle to ruin the story for me by telling who the half-blood prince is. I don’t want to be the last to know.

And so I ran to the local bookshop, got hold of the book and charged it to my card. Huhu! I’ll be up the whole night to finish this one and no, I won’t let anyone stop me this time. Bwahaha!

I’ll definitely write about it here… in my next post, if I don’t pass out from not having enough sleep.

almost there
